FRACTIONAL LEADERSHIP
Important work needs someone to own it.
You know what needs to happen. The challenge is turning it into a clear plan, aligning the people involved, keeping decisions moving, and making sure the work actually gets finished.
I step in as senior project or program leadership, bringing structure, momentum, and experienced problem-solving without adding a full-time hire.
FRACTIONAL PROJECT & PROGRAM LEADERSHIP
Senior leadership for the work that cannot afford to drift.
The Fractional Project & Program Leadership offer is for established businesses with an important initiative that needs experienced ownership, structure and follow-through, but not necessarily a full-time hire.
I step in to provide senior project management and program leadership, clarify the plan, organize the work, lead the right meetings, align the people involved, manage risks and decisions, and keep progress moving.
Where needed, I can also coach an internal project manager or team lead, strengthen the team’s project management approach, and help establish the right tools and processes. My role is to lead and enable the work, not become the person buried in project administration.
3 MONTH MINIMUM
Enough time to create traction and meaningful progress
SENIOR FRACTIONAL LEADERSHIP
Structured around the needs of the initiative
REMOTE OR HYBRID
With local onsite support where it adds value
Starting at $5,000/month
This may be a good fit if...
01.
An important initiative keeps slipping because no one truly owns it.
02.
There are too many moving parts, dependencies or competing priorities, and the current structure is not keeping up.
03.
The team is capable, but needs stronger project management, governance or coordination.
04.
A project has stalled, gone off track or is becoming increasingly risky.
05.
You have an internal project manager or team lead who would benefit from senior guidance and support.
06.
You need experienced leadership to get something important across the finish line.
This work can also be a fit for larger organizations.
Especially when you need experienced project or program leadership for a defined initiative, transformation, implementation, or period of change.
You do not need another layer of administration.
You need someone who can see the whole picture, keep people aligned, make decisions easier, and step in when progress starts to drift.
How it works.
01.
GET CLEAR ON THE WORK
We start by clarifying the initiative, goals, scope, success measures, key players and what is getting in the way.
02.
BUILD THE RIGHT STRUCTURE
I establish or refine the project plan, roles, decision-making, meeting cadence, risks, dependencies and reporting needed to keep the work moving.
03.
LEAD THE WORK
I lead the right project and stakeholder meetings, keep priorities clear, surface issues early and make sure decisions turn into action.
04.
KEEP THINGS MOVING
I track progress, manage risks and dependencies, resolve roadblocks, align the people involved and step in when the work starts to drift.
05.
STRENGTHEN THE TEAM
Where useful, I coach internal project managers or team leads, improve the team’s project management approach and leave behind stronger processes and capability.
What you leave with
The goal is not just to get the initiative moving. It is to leave the work clearer, the team stronger, and the path forward easier to manage.
A clearer path to delivery
The work is organized around what actually needs to happen next.
Better ownership & accountability
People know what they own, what decisions they need to make, and where things are getting stuck.
Stronger project management structure
The right planning, meetings, governance and reporting to support the work without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
Earlier visibility into risks
Problems, dependencies and delivery threats are surfaced before they become expensive surprises.
A stronger internal team
Project managers and team leads have clearer processes, better support and more confidence leading the work.
More reliable momentum
Important initiatives keep moving, even when priorities compete or the work gets complicated.
REAL LIFE EXAMPLES
What this looks like in practice
PROJECT RECOVERY
Took over a struggling project with slipping milestones and growing delivery risk. I assessed what was getting in the way, clarified ownership and priorities, introduced the right process improvements, and brought the project back on course to meet its release date.
RESOURCE & DELIVERY
In a fast-moving software company, multiple projects were competing for the same engineering resources. I created a centralized resource tracker and approval process so reassignment decisions could be made before people were pulled from critical work, reducing schedule risk and helping teams stay on track.
RELEASE & CHANGE LEADERSHIP
Designed and implemented a company-wide release lifecycle, including templates, checklists, software, training and ongoing monitoring. I also built change-management processes to improve how changes were evaluated, approved and rolled out across teams.
Ready to get the work moving?
You may already know what needs to happen. What’s missing is the senior leadership to organize the work, align the people involved, manage the risks, and keep progress moving.
We’ll start with a short conversation to see whether Fractional Project & Program Leadership is the right fit for the initiative.
Other ways I can help
When another kind of support makes more sense
Sometimes you need to step back and diagnose what’s really going on. Other times, you already know what needs to happen and need experienced leadership to get it moving.
Business Clarity Intensive
For established businesses that know something needs to change, but aren’t yet sure what the real problem is or where to focus.
Find the real problem, decide what matters, and leave with a prioritized plan for what to do next.
Customer Journey & Growth
For businesses that know the customer experience, conversion path, offer, positioning or growth strategy needs work.
Improve the journey from first interest through conversion, delivery and retention.
